Game Artist

I’m a Dutch 2d Game Artist. I’ve been working in the game industry for more than 8 years. I studied media design in the city of Utrecht and attended extra art classes in the weekend. Since my main interest had always been video games, I wrote my graduation thesis on the subject of ‘Game Design for Specific Audiences’. It fascinates me to be able to create worlds for others to enjoy and interact with and the ever changing technologies challenge me to keep educating myself and to experiment with new possibilities.

Since my studies I have built up professional experience in many facets of game development: 2D & 3D art, programming, game design and animation, as well as experience as a frontend developer. I worked for a number of different game studios and even though I strongly focus on 2D art nowadays, the whole of game development interests me.

I collaborated on a few internationally published PC/Console games and many PC/native/web casual games. I learned the possibilities and constraints of HTML5 game development, while working for casual game giant Spil Games. I developed into an expert of environment design and UI at GameHouse Europe.

I always try to think from the perspective of the end user and adjust my designs accordingly, rather than pushing my own preferred style.
