Mimi Kaz aka Marie Kazalia
Most call me by my nickname Mimi, but if you Google my full name Marie Kazalia you will find so much more about my creative history as author, poet, photographer and fine art painter.
I was born in the USA and attended a private fine arts college in San Francisco for my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Often I find that there are East-meets-West influences in my creative work from the 4 years I spent living and working as an expatriate in Japan, India, and China.
I photograph my primary subjects of food and nature with several different lenses, including a 105 mm macro lens, 60 mm macro, 16-35 wide angle zoom lens, a 35-70 mm zoom, and the prime lenses 50mm, 35 mm, 24 mm, as well as others, on my Nikon camera bodies. I also shoot videos and very long exposure photos using Neutral Density filters. Plus I have been using my new iPhone 13 Pro Max to make and edit photos and videos.
I currently live in California and love to travel with my camper to remote desert and mountain locations. A few years ago I traveled and camped on beaches in Baja, Mexico.
