John Lee Sanders is an Emmy Nominated Composer. In 2014, He won the German Music Critics Award for Blues Recording of the Year. He has 18 Cds out since 1995. San Francisco Drama Critics Award, Best Sound Design for a Theatre Production. Canadian Maple Blues Awards, Piano Player of the Year Nomination. He has a 2007 Daytime Emmy Nomination, from his work on the CBS drama, “Bold and Beautiful. He’s scored feature films for 20th Century Fox, and National ad campaigns for Apple and Nissan
Songwriter, Producer and performer John Lee Sanders. John Lee has worked on stage and studio, with some of the biggest legends and composers, of the last 50 years, including Jimmy Page, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson, Starship, Bill Withers, Chuck Berry, Randy Newman, Freddie King ,Tower of Power, and, Bonnie Raitt who called him one of her musical heroes. John Lee Toured many years with Blues legend, Long John Baldry, replacing superstar Elton John on piano. In concert with the late, Bill Withers, Bill asked John to sing lead on his Anthem “Lean On Me” for Both houses of Congress, at the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
John was signed to a major production deal with Rod Stewart’s Riva Records, and with Grammy Producer of the year, Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Mariah Cary).
While comfortable playing in all styles, John’s musical roots are very much born out of the intersection of blues, jazz, country and soul, and his latest release is a real seamless fusion of these styles. He Studied Film Scoring, Classical Orchestration, and Electronic Music at the University of North Texas, and San Jose State, with top Hollywood Film Composers from Universal Studios. On a recent concert with one of John’s Keyboard Hero, Keith Emerson, from Emerson Lake and Palmer, after hearing John’s performance of their hit “Lucky Man” he told the audience “That’s How it Should have been Done”
