After 8 years I will no longer be shopping with ENVATO. :cry:
I work very hard for my money. I don’t like spending it in places with hidden or non-existent return policies.
If I do a poor job for my clients… I do not get paid. I think it is unfair for people to be putting bad code for sale here and just taking my hard earned money and running.
Update: It’s now July of 2024. That was written in 2019. Over 5 years ago?
I came back to this site after such a long time and made a couple of purchases. I am not even more disappointed today than when I wrote that. The quality of the code here is so much worse. There is so much old code with deprecated and/or unsecure dependencies. Some of these projects have not been updated in years but Envato will still be glad to take your money for them and they still have that no return policy. No, this time I won’t ever come back. Not to Code Canyon at least.
What’s worse is that people are buying this code and making websites and apps with this unsafe old code. Sites that we may visit and enjoy.
