National Paperclip Day is May 29th, a well known piece of curved wire that keeps our papers together & helps keep us organized. The first patent for a “bent wire paper clip” was presented to Samuel B Fay in the United States in 1867. The original intention was to attach tickets to fabric. U.S. patent 64,088 recognized it could be used to attach papers together. The Gem paperclip was produced in Britain in 1870s by Gem Manufacture but never patented. Variety of sizes and colors of paper clips.
