Martha's Art: fine images of birds, bugs, beasts, plants and places
My name is Martha Marks. I’ve been a nature photographer for almost three decades, using superb Canon SLR cameras (both film and digital) and “L” lenses most of that time. Photography is the most enjoyable thing I do, despite the fact that I work very hard at it.
I live with my husband, a fine artist, in the beautiful and historic high-desert town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. We’re retired now from our “real work” and own a motor home, which we use as a mobile base of operations for our photography and painting throughout North America.
Oddly perhaps, I’m also the author of an historical mystery/suspense novel set in first-century Rome (Rubies of the Viper). There’s a sequel in the works which should be out in 2014. That’s how I spend my time when I’m not on the road in search of inspiring subjects to photograph.
