Paris Escandón
I am a legally blind artist. While my foundations are in visual art and theatre, since the loss of my sight I have worked with digital media, capturing and producing images with the aid of technology. I have honed these skills through different projects combining animation, 3D models, and visual effects. I enjoy working, creating and experimenting with digital media where it is easier for me to control my scene, in contrast to the real world for which my eyesight is an impediment.
I am inspired by the cinematography of Danny Boyle, Oliver Stone, Guillermo del Toro, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Alfonso Cuarón.
Currently, I am working to develop my abilities as a visual storyteller, exploring documentary photography through my lived experience as an immigrant with chronic illness, and as a middle-aged man.
