Cinnamon rolls are a sweet pastry roll common to Northern Europe (mainly in Scandinavia) and North America. They are made from a rolled sheet of yeast-leavened dough onto which a mixture of cinnamon, sugar, raisins, and nuts are sprinkled over a thin layer of butter. The dough is then rolled and cut into individual portions before being baked, and glazed.
