WP admin theme update notification

Hi everyone

Recently with the new WP version one of my themes stop working correctly (the custom post types) and one of the customers was really mad, he told me “I paid for it and expect it to work in 3.1”.

Anyway i told him that i will fix that and submit a new version, well to make the story short, i fixed the error but i want to include and option in the theme admin panel to display a message when an update is available.

I’m trying to find information in google but i’m not even sure how should i enter the search (custom updates notification in wp, admin panel update available notification, etc. )

Well right now i’m not sure how to start searching for what i need, if someone knows a tutorial or something like that please let me know.
