I like music of Hanz Zimmer. Soundtrack “Time” from Inception. And I like “Honor him” from Gladiator! It is awesome
That’s really a tough question. There’s so many great compositions… but if I had to choose I guess I’d land somewhere between Neil Young’s Soundtrack for “Dead Man” – and Nick Cave’s music for “The Assassination of Jesse James”... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xH0b2TooTxY

‘Henry Plainview’ – from There Will Be Blood, by Jonny Greenwood. An amazing connection of music and film. This track opens the movie – no sound effects, no dialog, just music and picture.
Thomas Newman, Hans Zimmer and I also liked the music of Michel Hazanavicius in the movie “The Artist”

+1. Extraordinary and intense opening. If I remember correctly, the visuals are not intense, simply a guy climbing into a mine. The vibe is created completely by the music.

Ennio Morricone’s “Love Theme” from Cinema Paradiso, very moving music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Aqj6u_7kFM
Almost all works of James Horner, but Braveheart OST is number one.
Also love Twin Peaks OST (and many other works of Angelo Badalamenti)
Blade Runner Soundtrack (Esper Edition)
