I’ve just seen a thread from our fellow author Giallo -“Rejected Item becomes Best of th Web November 2010!! LOL ”

I’ve experienced a similar story. To be honest, my item, that’s #1 top-seller for this week, was rejected when I first submitted it. Reason being too many similar items existing in the marketplace. However, I resubmitted the file explaining the reviewer what makes it distinguishable from the rest and how much work I’ve put into it to provide it unique features. Luckily enough, I had a reviewer who was ready to listen and even better, understood me. So the item was accepted for sale. :)

What I’d like to share is, you need to understand that reviews have a really short time allocated on each slot for an item to be reviewed as you know our marketplace is ever-growing. Hence, it might not be instantly obvious/apparent to the reviewer what’s makes your file unique and worthwhile to be included for sale. Spare a few minutes listing out some pointers that justify your file as ‘additional notes’ to the reviewer message in your declaration/acceptance section and it shall yield more approvals for you :)

You said it mate!

If one has created a very similar item to a top-seller or a popular item, make sure to let us know what’s different from the one that’s already been approved. Makes our job so much easier and who knows, we might even avoid a rejection if the difference is noticeable and good enough!

Absolutely true… Better to explain to the reviewer since he probably doesn’t have the time to make a deep comparison.

Probably that’s the trick and that’s how we can help the reviewers during the process: to give an explanation!

Happened to my last item too, it’s not a top seller but it’s selling good :) great post imultime
