What music inspires you? What generally inspires you to write new works?

I always wondered what inspires people to new creative work? For example, I always have different … sometimes a movie, sometimes just good music heard on the radio… What inspires you, dear authors?

Seeing videos with Vangelis in his studio it’s like porn for my creativity

Seriously, just seeing or hearing musicians I admire talking about working in the studio and experimenting and that whole ’’kid in the candy shop’’ thing, stuff like that always gets me in the mood to play around on my keyboard

Taking a walk in the woods,
buying new sample libraries,
listening to music from various genres,
playing Battlefield 3 or
Skyrim!

Very interesting sources of inspiration

I find that writing inspirational music is a never ending source of inspiration. Its like a cycle, write inspiring music, get inspired, write more inspiring music. Lol

For me is always something new – I listen to tracks on other royalty free music stocks, I sneak around sites that sells sample libraries … I’m trying to recreate something which very often starting to be a important part of composition. One of the most important thing for me is not spending 100% of free time with music. You need to “reset” your brain with some other activities.

For me it’s usually a song that grabs me…then it inspires me sometimes to attempt something in that vein..I like once I hear something that I cant get enough of…which is sometimes rare but awesome when it happens..I love to deconstruct and listen to what makes it tick. Usually music inspires me create music..not really books, or movies, although sometimes that inspires a cool title..of course life and relationships although cliche sometimes inspires me.

What inspires me to write music is anything that doesn’t involve writing music.

Sometimes i listen to other artists and when i really like a piece of music i instantly get inspired to run to my studio and get creating. lol

and sometimes i can’t think of anything, we all have those days .
