lifwanian saidThere must be something fishy with those guys… remember – they say, when something looks suspicious with a paying customer, there usually is. I’d be careful if I was you…
pezflash saidYeah true that… They’re telling me they called the bank and they’re not able to set up an account or something… Kinda weird..
There is no problem in giving your bank account number, i mean, they can’t do nothing with it except doing payments. But it’s strange they prefer this method, as they will need to pay a huge tax for doing a transfer to US bank from Europe. On the other hand, if they pay with credit card to your Paypal request there are no taxes at all, just the conversion from euros to dollars from their bank (not Paypal). Are you sure they know how Paypal works?
I mean, maybe they think they need a Paypal account to pay.
Paypal is not neccesarrily supported in all countries.
Where all live we cannot receive money with Paypal, only send.
With Moneybookers on the other hand, payments between international customers and US customers using the Send Money service is not supported.
Payoneer may be an option. It accepts direct payments now (from visa or mastercard). The fee is 3.75%. Here is the link to the payoneer load page
https://load.payoneer.com/LoadToPage.aspx
EDIT : also, you can give only e-mail to you client to make a payment. There is no need to give the whole card number

that’s why they don’t want to send it via paypal or something… they want it via wire because, they will have your official info and identity, and if you try to cheat them, they will seek for their money… i don’t think they are asking for your info to stole your identity.. they just want to make sure that their money won’t get lost… doing it via banks will be safe because it can be traced.. but IDIOT Paypal Support team never give an info about a transaction.. so it will be hard..
Yeah, i agree with Pdesignx. But this is also about the budget range. If it is a little sum than i guess it may be fishy but if it is a large sum its relatively more resonable.

Hi, I wouldn’t recommend Wester Union I have some bad experience. Try wire transfer or Moneybookers.
Thanks guys! So ended up using PayPal, and got all sorts of awesome fees!
Just wasnt used to having clients do wire transfers… Havent really done them internationally before.
Next time, will definitely consider it!

They can’t do anything with your swift number, the bank employee who told you that is a complete amateur. Ask to speak with bank manager.
Also , it’s normal for a company not to work through paypal , especially when higher sums of money are involved.
They want to do a proper wire transfer from their company account so they have no problem with accounting , taxes etc…
