I know Envato run adwords campaigns, not sure of they show on youtube as I only use it to host client videos if they can’t self host.
Nice stats for the traffic,it ironically shows that video is a great medium for promotion, which is why I am getting into AE files.
I do seo and social media can be a huge bringer of traffic,I assume envato has a facebook page etc but it might be an idea to spit the different parts of Envato and have a seperate fan page for each giving away a free file would work(free file of the month) for each division e.g videohive, audio jungle etc.
I would also suggest Envato maybe a does a bi weekly email update, this can generate a nice across the board surge in sales.
Amazing work everyone, very interesting to see the stats!
I bet I contribute 2nd most in YouTube after Mocarg

While you’re here, Collis, perhaps you can shed some light on another mystery that we have puzzled over for a long while without getting any closer to an answer. “Why when they sell, they sell again”. Items, even old forgotten ones that don’t sell for several weeks at a time, will suddenly sell twice or even three times in a row. (a kind of twist on the gambler’s fallacy). Too many of us notice this too often for it to really be random clustering.Weird! I haven’t got anything off the top of my head, one sale is not enough to make it on to the popular items (which by its nature self reinforces to a degree), and I don’t think we have any other self reinforcing features. I’ll have to have a think about it! What a bizarre find! I think it’s kind of cool that there is this mini-economy here on the marketplaces, and it’s super complex too!
Thanks, Collis! Is it possible to know statistic by Audiojungle?Sure thing, I’ll get working on a forum post there too!
Geographical stats would be really niceSure, I’ve grabbed some from Google Analytics, so this is visitors not necessarily buyers and these numbers are a bit rough as I’m just dividing visitor counts into the total in my head
US – 20%
UK – 4%
Russia – 4%
Germany – 4%
India – 4%
Brazil – 4%
Canada – 3%
France – 3%
Mexico – 3%
Ukraine – 3%
Turkey – 2%
Italy – 2%
Spain – 2%
Australia – 2%
China – 2%
Romania – 2%
Argentina – 1.5%
Netherlands – 1.5%
Poland – 1.5%
Serbia – 1%
... etc. There are over 200 countries, with 6 (Lesotho, Mayotee, Turks and Cicaos Islands, Burundi, Liberia and Eritrea) only sending 1 visitor for the month
... meanwhiles where the heck is Lesotho and Mayotee! Time to break out wikipedia!!!!
I’d expect to be sitting on the board of directors by $2mill.I’ll make sure I get a special leather seat prepared for you felt_tips! And maybe one of those awesome green lamps ;D
“US 20%...”
Seems that “Labors day” lower the VH sales these days

Collis, I can give you a good example of what Felt is talking about. On the 1st day of this month I sold one of my files three times and another two times (no other sales). I have released my latest file in February so this is really strange for me to have so many sales in one day. On top of that I’ve had no sales after the 1st!

I had a file sell 4 times in a row just lately. I was actually online as the last three of them happened. All within the space of 5 minutes.
The only thing I can think of is that it was one user who could think of several uses for the file.
The first was a credit card sale, then the other two were a deposit.

It’s happening a lot lately, maybe it’s because of the social share feature
