TO MODERATOR : THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT MY ITEM REJECTION , BUT ABOUT ART EROTIC ON THE ENVATO MARKETPLACES IN GENERAL …

;) Hm, I usually have no time to discuss all the ‘hypercritical’ VH rejections, just following the instructions, while the recent one has pretty important ‘sexual morality’ aspect…

My dear ‘item Inquisitor’,

YOU WROTE :

Your item Twilight Showcase isn’t quite ready for VideoHive. This is the reason given by our item inspector:

We’re family friendly marketplace with minors around. Therefore some of your images can’t be accepted. Nudity, underwear, provoking poses are not acceptable. Please replace your second image with more general one.

MY TOPIC :

All the preview images for that my absolutely ‘innocent’ AE template I’ve recently purchased on the PhotoDune, where they previously had been accepted by strict PD reviewers, and there is nothing adult at all for sure… Or may be different Envato marketplaces nowadays indeed are targeted on the different customers of some special ages and minds, like PD – for ‘liberal seniors’ and VH – for ‘puritan teenagers’ ?... But VH previously had no problems in approving some nice sexual footage clips… Or that is a provocative ‘double standard’ issue?... Hey dear reviewers, that’s blessing to try to become more ‘family friendly’, just please don’t turn less ‘author friendly’, and don’t be holier than the Pope… Here is the link to the original mentioned ‘second image’ by Yuri Arcurs (one of billion with such ‘common nudity’ by other PD authors) – http://photodune.net/item/sexy-young-woman-in-bikini-posing-against-colored-background/213134

Come on, do we really need to discuss that funny ‘soft erotic’ on the VH forum?

Thnx, VideoMagus ;)

Here is my temporarily ‘sex-rejected’ preview – http://youtu.be/L-fwWXrmHQM?hd=1

Ha, yes. I think it is a bit too strict. Kids go to beach as well I guess.

Tut tut! Using pretty ladeez to sell templates? :)

Looks about as sordid as posters I see on billboards all around town and a bit of a double-standard between market places.

Yeah I notice this difference one day when searching some pictures on PD.
BTW I thinks that when in the pic case, user can need a specific sexy photo, and in templates, since you re not selling the place holder, you can avoid pushing the limits, and sell the sexy thing with colors, fonts, atmospheres, blurs…
but yes I notice the difference and was curious about this too…

Thank you guys for your ‘moral’ support!... Also I’ve contacted the Envato support, yet still waiting for a reply… I wouldn’t mind to change any other picture and any other detail in my template, but never with that absurd ‘amoral’ reason… Now is 21st century, not 12th… And again this image is from Photodune , so we def need some clear common all-Envato standards with the erotic genres… What is acceptable on one marketplace, must be acceptable on all… Cheers ;)

^ And quite a few others :)

Surely this is just a weird blip! That image should certainly be allowed.

I’m all for standards, but only one set.

Envato should be more detailed about this topic, with provided examples of allowed and not allowed images. Ok, censored unallowed :)

HAAA , HERE IS REPLY FROM OUR PRIEST :

Hello, please understand the difference between Stock photography and Project file with placeholders. While in first case the actual material is sold for those that might need it – Project files just uses image placeholders to demonstrate what the template can do. There are thousands of images available from nearly every theme and they could be used to demonstrate your template equally well. Besides your template doesn’t have any specific theme that would demand the use of pictures with nudity.

You made a good decision picking your other images. Please replace that one in question as well and resubmit your preview video alone. Rest of your submission were fine and ready for approval.

Filips Baumanis VideoHive Reviewer

HMMM , MY OPINION :

Dear Mr.Filips Baumanis HOW YOU COULD DICTATE US WHO WOULD PURCHASE AND USE OUR TEMPLATES ?

This is absolutely universal template, useful for any custom slide show, artistic gallery, TV program opening, talk show intro, dramatic credits, commercial showcase, businness presentation, etc, etc… So I intentionally used various pictures simply to demonstrate that… And some of the potential customers may be would like to use it for the fashion, tourism, entertainment, night clubs, erotic dramas, if not to mention the escort services, sex-shops or any for other ‘adult’ industry… with some soft or hard nudity pictures… NOBODY see in that image any problem… ONLY YOU suddenly found it ‘not family friendly’... In that case the amoral is your personal ‘puritan’ or ‘taliban’ fantasy… And can’t believe that we need to start that funny ‘sexual revolution’ on VideoHive in 2012… And I would be happy to hear something from Envato ‘management’ as well… It’s pretty strange, when I’m asking Envato support to help me with the unfair reviewing, and they resend it back down to the same reviewer, isn’t it?...

Cheers, VideoMagus ;)
