Top new author (4 sales from January 2012) is it a joke?

Just find funny thing: Don’t want to show the name but AJ author is a member since January 2012, has 4 sales, no rating and he is in the Top new authors, is it joke? And what is the criteria?

He must be member since january and AUTHOR only for month:)

It’s quite funny, have been discussed about this before and I will try to explain here what’s going on:

Some authors could get approved the fist item long after becoming an author, but their sales are in top of that weekly category’s sales.

I hope this makes sense.

For example if you are 2 years at AJ and had no uploads before, you have chance to become top new author?..

Believe it or not, yes. I’ve seen on Themeforest many 4 years authors on this top.
