Justin, will it allow item based support?
I mean, if an author has one item on TF and one on, say, GR (cheaper), a buyer would only get access to support for the item he enters the purchase code for. Otherwise I think you know what can happen… 
Has anyone actually considered this with their support? Or are most authors giving support for all their items, asking for just one purchase code?

It isn’t quite that granular YET , but basically a user can (optionally) be asked to enter their purchase number. When they open a new ticket, that ticket will either be a “Verified Buyer” or “Unverified Buyer” ticket, leaving you with the option to ask them to enter their purchase number or go ahead with the supporting.
