I think this entire thread is a great example of how not to treat clients.

If you don’t like working with someone, that is fine. You simply and professionally tell them you can’t do the project and you move on.

The mods should lock this thread and close it.

I think it helps to let off a little steam, and on here it’s being done in a fun way.

I know I’ve received some strange comments in the past, but I think also that there have been times when I’ve been working longer than my brain can handle and have asked some really stupid things of devs. I usually get a nice and polite answer, but I know that it was stupid when I lok at it again.

This is an author insider joke that should not be elaborated here :)

Took me a second before I got it, but when I did, it gave me a solid LOL .

Generally it just annoys me greatly, when people ask me questions that are answered in the README file. Or when I get the comments “It’s not working!” – “Have you read the README file?” – “It’s working now, thanks!” ._.’

Another good one, was when I got the comment: “I’ve installed the Action, but I can’t find it in my Filters menu in Photoshop. What’s going on?” (for non-Photoshop’ers: Actions are, naturally, installed in the Actions menu).

It’s all with the best intentions – just a bit of fun. I agree these kind of threads need to be monitored closely and we are careful that it does not turn into a wall of shame where clients are openly called out, but as long the comments remain very general and nobody is mentioned or hinted at explicitly, I feel it can stay open for a while.

Just had enquiry come thru this morning,

My php developer has disappeared, so i am not paying him. Can you get the files off his server and finish it up for me, i need to know price before you do any work. So i can pay you in full when you are finished.

  • Client: I purchased your font resizer wordpress plugin, how can I install this on Opera?
  • Me: Mohamed, Jesus, God, Scientists, TED ... no, the plugin only works with WordPress
  • Client: What’s WordPress? I thought it can work with Opera too.
