The thing about this thread i dont like is its title.
“things noobs say…” does in fact sound like people who are just new to premium themes and/or have a few basic questions (which is perfectly fine) are being ridiculed by the people they pay money to.
Changing the title a bit along the lines of “things unreasonable clients say…” would help a lot.

Moonworks saidExactly! Johhny4B, I don’t see any reason to relate this thread to your topic – you started a decent thread that clearly showed you were looking for a serious developer to help you out. Nothing wrong with it!
@Johnny4B – I see no reason why you would suspect that this thread was inspired by you. Your query (pardon the pun) sounds like it is just requesting a dev and that you are willing to pay, all good stuff![]()
I only based my assumption on the fact my thread was started a day before this one … and in between I see no other asking for help (just to reiterate , when I say help, it was help with a cost).
Anyway, a lot of what I said, in general is relevant … I have on many occasions slagged of clients, or should I call that having a little laugh at their expense with colleagues …
Categorically, and I would assume most in a professional capacity would agree, it is certainty not something I would do with them in the same room.
And as I appreciate as a “noob”, this aint a room, but comparison is pretty damn close.
Anyway, I as most wont lose much sleep over some laughing at others behalf, in general my experiences here has been fantastic on the rare occasion I have asked for further help from a developers product I may have bought, they have always been very helpful
Granted, I don’t see them in here commenting.
Life is too short, we move on … and we try and learn as we go.

John
This is the latest reply, lol from a “client” who balked at our fees of $55 per hour for 3 guys to work on his project ( thats a total for all 3 ppl not each )
Here is his reply, take note of the fact if I was a good developer I could do it 10x faster and so my fees should be 10% of what I am asking ! )
You just have to love the MATHS !
Hey cheers for the link Steve. Yeah, my budgeting is low for [website], and I know $5 isn’t much, but usually I see a lot of inexperienced people basically looking for work as a starting point to building up their Freelance career and it’s really hit or miss as far as how skilled they are – I really don’t want to throw my money away. A good developer can get things done 10X faster than a novice, (and the work’s FAR better quality) I’ve had my fair share of developers, the last one ran away, he was actually lightning fast, and amazingly talented, I think his mind actually worked in php! But.. I think I pushed him a little far with my budgeting, basically I need a good coder who I can trust, some unjustly push for more and more money, some mess things up so bad the whole project becomes unusable and no one will touch it, some are egotistical and want to re-create the wheel everytime you ask them to do something that’s been done a zillion times, some are old school who probably learned a little coding with basic in the 80’s, done some old iframe happy sites in the late 90’s still using table based html, have no idea about ajax, html5, css3, responsive layouts, or SEO friendlyness and just out to make a quick buck in their spare time. I need someone who knows what their doing – I need to be sure of that first. I’ve tried design studios, but they’ll charge you stupid amounts to get even the most simplest of things done, and they’ll take their time about it, these are business out to make as much money as possible and the passion has gone. I’ve tried off shore coders but, unfortunately communication’s always bad with these guys. I’m looking to get a good coder I can collaborate with on the next project, I can’t afford to throw good money away on someone who doesn’t know what their doing, hence the low budget – the other project I have will make both me and the new developer a lot of cash but I need to find that talented person first.

“I need someone who knows what they’re doing”
(that’s why my budget is $5 an hour lol)
Sometimes people think they’re a lot smarter than they really are
pmsl @ you two.
I was offended for 3 nano seconds, with his comments. But I guess he really does have a budget, and a high expectation lol ..
My reply was GOLD . I perhaps wont post on here, as I may get told off lol
