Theme sales going down? Is this normal?

Hi guys, i’ve noticed lately that the most recent Wordpress Themes are getting very very low sales… some in the level of 1 to 10, this is weird…. of course not all of them, there are some that are doing really well, but it seems like sales are down, why do you think this is happening? is it normal? Have you noticed something similar in previous years?

It happened over on activeden. Basically only the top notch files continue to sale like they used to.

But it could just be summer. People on holiday. The marketplaces are hard to predict. One day you can be on top, the next nothing sales.

Released a Site Template this week. Solid amount of sales for me

Some themes/templates just don’t sell very well for various reasons (Some good reasons, others unpredictable). Pretty normal.

It’s summer, things tend to slow. Unfortunately, you can’t really compare year to year since file quality / quantity changes.

Today has been very slow for me but an average week overall I think.

Yeah you’re right guys there are many factors and as I mentioned I’m sure it’s not something affecting ALL files or the ENTIRE marketplace because you can see files released the SAME week with some extraordinary sales…. the thing is it caught my attention because of the number of themes with low sales during this last 2 weeks… you can see in the latest released on the Wordpress section.

Just wanted to know if this was normal.

Pretty normal, nothing to worry about Look at it from the positive perspective, you can take some time off too.

Yup, I will make sure to repost it in the next year as well. It will be passed on to generation after generation so you’ve just became part of the history mate, thumbs up

The last 10 themes simply cant compete with some of the other popular files. Sales aren’t down at all in fact look at freshface’s latest baby.

Damn that baby gains weight fast… Better get a new “skin” soon before it bursts ahaha
