Crozer, a little to busy for what I’m looking for. Question to you developers : Are WordPress slideshows not smart enough to resize an image according to the browser window? My heads are being cropped in the slideshows however when I expand my browser window I can see the entire image (if I can go that high on the monitor). Would this be a developer problem or WP problem? My testers are saying images are being cropped at different points.

No portraits. I liked one of your other themes though. Give me the PW for the demo admin and let me upload a image to a slideshow and create a thumb and you may have a sale.

That’s not an automate slideshow. The portraits appear to be cropping indiscriminately. Some of them aren’t very flattering.

Now it’s getting very scary. I just pulled up my website on my Android and the slideshow images in portrait mode displayed correctly. But they can’t do that on a full blown browser on a PC???

Hey man,

Sounds like you know exactly what you’re looking for and have some important features you need so why not head over to http://freelanceswitch.com and hire someone to create you a custom WordPress theme to your liking for $3000-4000?

Good luck!

Just trying to figure out why templates that are being sold for photography don’t actually work for all photography. Why should portrait photographers have to find this out after they purchase? If the template can only really handle landscape mode photos in their slideshow then say so up front. I really want this to work with my current theme. If someone can get this issue resolved there will be a lot of money to be made but until then portrait photographers will stay away. There are tens of thousands of people trying to be pro photographers and trying to get into the business as cheaply as they can A good template at themeforest prices will make a serious dent in traditional photography site sales. I don’t know where you guys got your photography advice but I will tell you there are a lot more people shooting portraits to sell than their are landscape photographers. I’m really looking for answers.

Plenty of photography themes support landscape and portrait shots that are un-cropped. Most of them say so in the descriptions as this is a common requested feature. Also, you can always post a comment to make sure before purchasing.

So widescreen displays were made just to piss you off?

In all seriousness, you really need to reconsider what you are demanding. Themes are made to cover the majority of the market. Claiming to be the majority does not make you as such. I don’t know how popular your market really is but the majority (and when I say majority, I mean 90%+) is based around landscape photography, or a mix of the two. And I can assure you, those who really are serious about their careers invest in a custom site to accomodate their needs and make it more likely for them to succeed.

Just as an FYI , almost every theme supports portrait-styled photography, you simply have to adjust the dimensions. Because of the nature of modern displays, everything is widescreen. It doesn’t matter what theme you get, portrait-style photos will either be extremely small in width to accomodate for the limited height, or be cropped at the top and bottom to even out the dimensions.

That’s all there is to it. You can argue your point all you want but it won’t help your cause.

What about when your Android phone is in landscape – what happens then?

I’m probably misunderstanding the point, but it sounds like you’re just unhappy with what people are showing you – they’re showing you themes that allow portrait photography images, but because your monitor is in landscape (same with 90%+ of other monitors) it doesn’t look right.

Or… maybe you’re just trollin’?
