For those experienced sellers, how do you find your themes do over time? My only theme has been up for a few weeks and strangely, I’ve noticed no slow down on traffic (since it left the homepage anyway). This is a good thing, but how long will it last? As my theme gets buried further down the listings, will I get less views of my theme? If so, how do you go about keeping traffic flowing?

Definitely the views will be lower and lower with passage of time but if you keep releasing new themes at regular intervals then that can help you to get new buyers to see your previous themes. Also a hit theme will keep getting high volume of sales for a quite a long time (See Popular Files page for examples).

Although it may seem like having a file on the front page significantly improves your sales, I have never experienced much of a difference either way. Files are simply being browsed and search through menu categories.

Is just a thing of marketing yourself.. is not enough to make a theme and let it there.. if you don`t do this as daily basis .. than you work for nothing. I think people should study what are the trends what people buy, then try to make a theme than can compete with those that are featured.. and hope is a bestseller than featured and bring lots of sales.

Of course higher the number of your items are higher the number of the visits. Because your next item will bring visits to your past items also. Promote your self.. invest some of the money you gain. There are people here that after a month of working on a project the next month they work promote it.

Than at a certain time you items will auto promote themselves.

In conclusion is not enough just to put an item on envato and hope something good happen.

Some good tips here. I like to keep myself on the radar by posting frequently in this forum (of course, I enjoy it also!). When I get more themes up, I plan on sorting out my portfolio website and putting more time into other dev/design forums to build my profile. It’s a slow-burner, but one that I believe will pay off.

Thanks for your reponse!
