@simaudio beat me to it – I was just about to post about the rain. I can barely see the building opposite out of my window because the rain is so heavy. And this is supposed to be the height of summer…

The worst thing is that it’s still very humid and pollen count is high, so everybody is sweating and sneezing, but it’s pouring with rain!

Flight to Spain, anyone?

Réunion Island :

• French Island with 800000 population, at the east of Madagascar and about 200km south west of Mauritius.
• One of the overseas departments of France since 1946.
• First European discovery in about 1507 by some Portuguese explorer.
• 63 kilometers long, 45 kilometers wide, for 2,512 square kilometers.
• The Piton des Neiges volcano (extinct) is the highest point on the island at 3,070 meters.
• The Piton de la Fournaise volcano on the eastern end rises more than 2,631 meters (erupted more than 100 times since 1640 and is under constant monitoring)
• French is the only official language of Réunion. Although not official, “Réunion Creole” (derived from French) is also spoken.
• Réunionese culture is a blend (métissage) of European, African, Indian, Chinese and insular traditions

Don’t tell us that you live in this amazing place or the community will hate you forever but on a serious note do you live here? I’m craving to see this island.

Well, I’m from Turkey and probably the only thing i like about it is the landscape and the climate. I kind of live in my small own circle and pretty much have nothing in common with 90% of its people. So it’s painful to live here sometimes but you get used to it…

Ahah, grew up and spent 23 years there. It’s was really great time! (I’m more into big city and travel right now)

No italians yet? Well:

• 60.8 million people
• Famous for .. .. well.. really I have to write because Italy is famous in the world?
• Great crisis right now, citizens are very stressed
• Probably world’s biggest taxed country (each worker must spend more than 60% of their incomes in taxes)
• Probably the lowest salaries in the world, compared to the living standards
• Probably the most expansive gasoline in the world (1.9€/l)
• World’s greatest bureaucratic country. Also for buying candies you have to lose hours
• People considers football more important than their lifes. If Italy wins the World championship you can also steal a car and no one cares
• Great weather (specially here near Cote D’azur)
• Beautiful ladies
• Awesome beaches and mountains

Turkey hey don’t be so pessimistic. Turkey is the greatest country in the world. There are many tourism regions. Perfect historical places. and we have city of wonders ISTANBUL . We Turks loves helping and living with nature. We are all hospitables. You can be right about expensive life but i think still we have beutiful country

well…these are just the facts about our country…living in very beautiful but very expensive country doesnt make any sense to me. Just an example , for a family with 2 working members, there wont be much left even to buy some food after paying the home rent and bills. The country can be very beatiful and have lots of tourism regions, but where is the fun about it if the folk has no chance to visit this places.

Not to forget to mention, if you want to spend your complete salary only for gas, with the standard salary that you get here, you cant even fill your car tank for a secont time. Now call me pessimist if you want to

But in Turkey if you are a civil servant or if you are a farmer its hard to live.

Okay Glad to see this kind of Thread but little sad no one posted about our country here yet… So I’m first to tell that..

Seriously it’s very difficult to tell about own country in short massage. I’m from BANGLADESH . It is a South Asian Country. Very beautiful country, not so big small but beautiful. I’ll not say will show you about my country… watch this video-
