Tell us about your country!

I don’t know about what country should I talk, Moldova (where I was born) or Spain (where I live and study).

• The Spanish Kingdom (yes, we have a king here) has a population of nearly 48M.
• Apart from Castilian (ordinary Spanish) there are three other co-official languages: Catalan (spoken in Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands), Euskera or Basque (spoken in Euskadi and Navarre) and Galician (spoken in the beautiful Galicia)
• We have hot summers and not-so-cold winters, but the Mediterranean coast is the perfect place to spend the Summer holidays
• The typical food (at least here, in Valencia) is the Paella and the drink is Horchata. But every region has its own typical food.
• In my opinion, Spanish architecture is one of the most developed and most beautiful in Europe.
• Obviously, football is very popular here.
If any other Spaniards would like to add something else, you are most welcome to do so.

Facts about Ukraine. We had a Euro 2012, EuroVision, and Chernobil. Last one was not funny. Also cheapest crap-site costs about 12,5 bucks here. Ukraine is famous in arts world for its kinda vulgar “ukrainian barocco”.

HOWEVER , we have smartest programmers, most talanted designers, hottest chicks and cheapest beer. Also our president is former prisoner and complete jerk.

One of the things I always find amazing about this community is how everyone is from so many different parts of the world. But as someone who dropped out of school in the second grade, I sometimes don’t know much about where people are from. So I thought it would be fun to share some information about where we’re all from (no political stuff so we can keep it clean). I’ll start:

United States:

• Tomorrow is the “4th of July” holiday, where we celebrate our independence from the English. We celebrate by having cookouts, drinking beer and lighting fireworks.
• Professional Soccer (football) is not really that popular in the U.S.
• We’re having record breaking heat in some parts of the country this summer.
