Hi TNL , spam is problem, yes, but I don’t see how discussing it on the forums can help. I’m glad you reported it, and I’m afraid that it’s all you can do.
gotta be something that the devs can do maybe

Spammers will always spam. I think we have a pretty good system of letting users report and block spam, but no system is ever going to be 100% perfect. Just keep reporting them
Yeah reporting is our best choice right now…Registration/Logins use captcha and all…but that never stops the bots. I like the system of reporting how it won’t show the OP’s text anymore.

Ceci n’est pas un spam.
I guess there’s always a tradeoff between usability and spam-prevention. Sure, Envato could only allow people to post a thread after they’ve made a purchase or uploaded a file, but this comes with the obvious (and serious) downsides. An alternative that has been suggested before is the disallowing of posting links before someone reaches a certain threshold (post count, time since registration, buying a file, uploading a file, something like that). The bottom line is, you can’t prevent spam without disrupting some of the good posts, so it’s a delicate matter that’s definitely not trivial.
Either way, we’re trying our best to remove spam as soon as possible (which is usually as soon as one of us sees it). Keep up the reporting – it really helps

Fishing for one, are we?
If there was a spam badge i would spam just to get that badge!
So while a new badge would be nice i dont think it would help much with the problem ^^
