Promoting authors files is unethical? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Especially considering that Envato encourages you to promote their products. So does hundreds of other stock websites.

I don’t see how I help authors make money by referring their products is unethical. If I can help authors make more money by promoting and advertising their products, it’s a win win situation for everyone.

I promote lots of other Author’s work and my work is featured on lots of other people’s sites – it’s definitely an ethical thing to do

Promoting other authors files is going to help everyone. If someone was promoting my files, I would feel honored because I know that the artwork is good enough that someone would feature it on their website.

I own Graphic Rodeo dot net domain.

My goal is to have these domain up and fully functional by the end of next year. Starting with Graphic Rodeo first.

My goal is to not only make money on referrals but to also make money on display advertising as well. I have other sites that I own doing display advertising and I make around $15,000 a year at the moment. I’m hoping to double that by the end of next year with graphic rodeo.

@quickandeasy – congrats for achieving your goals! Yeah, goals are great motivation, but if you fail to complete them, or at least get close to achieving them, it might become demotivating instead. It’s tricky, but all it needs is hard work and motivation. You obviously have those

@Bedros – it’s definitely not unethical. Many authors… and many non-authors do it. Of course, it is nice to ask an author or at least let him known that you’re promoting his item.

@xstortionist – I like the idea and I wish you luck with your network of promo-sites! And, oh, I almost forgot – count me in if you like my files! O:)

Nothing wrong with using the referral system to promote authors, we encourage it
