All I have to say is… have a meeting, get your crap together and figure out what you do and do not allow on the envato marketplaces.

I have been told multiple times that we are not allowed to upload actual products, “Especially if they resemble Apple products”....

So, after flagging and reporting every single iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro I could find, I finally (weeks later) get an email from Envato saying:

“I’ve had to get this request clarified and would like to inform you that you are permitted to submit these designs. Please be sure you have appropriate licensing and permissions for all work used. Thanks!”

Nice work guys! Reject the two files of mine which were perfection in ZIP form, and accept a couple from another author a couple days later. Then when I complain, tell me oh, my bad I guess it’s ok….

So, let me ask this… who’s gonna pay for my lost time and lost sales caused by the ignorance of members of the envato staff. As far as I can tell, I lost about $50-$100 to another author because of this.

What a joke.

That’s conspiracy! LOL . :p

If one is acceptable, two is unbelievable. Sorry to hear that. Keep up good work and never give up.

if I have an issue or not confident to get approval, I will write a note to reviewer. I don’t know if you did or not, but it’s work for me. :)

Yeah, I even wrote a note in the upload form saying I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to upload a photorealistic vector iPhone4, even though I didn’t use the real name in the product title and I got a reply saying that I couldn’t upload anything that resembles an Apple product.

So, I flagged all te apple products on the site. And then got this:

“I apologize for the confusion on this. The items in question violate our policy and have been disabled. I’ve also spoken with the review team about the issue. If you notice any other items you think may be violating our policy, please do notify us and we will take appropriate action according to our policy. Thanks!”

Now I get an email saying this:

“I’ve had to get this request clarified and would like to inform you that you are permitted to submit these designs. Please be sure you have appropriate licensing and permissions for all work used. Thanks!”

Two clarifications on the same topic with two different results… SERIOUSLY ?

I think these is an issue with reviewers, or a serious problem with informing the reviewers on what Envato will or will not accept as far as files go.

I pretty much don’t want to upload anything else now because I have NO faith in the process or those who “review” my files.

All of them are illegal as apple hold the patent for them and anything that looks like them.

Basically what envato is saying they are assuming you have the relevant rights to sell the files, when they know full well that we dont and apple are hardly going to say

“feel free to create picture that look like our products and sell to make money” I dont think so as apple is not getting there 30%.

ALL APPLE PRODUCTS ON THE SITE ARE ILLEGAL REPLICAS

Just for get about coping thing like this and get on designing your own stuff

As at the moment you complaining about not being able to sell a copy of someone else’s product, is hardly unfair.

If you really feel hard done by contact Apple and ask them to get the content removed of the site!

Or contact support and demand they update the wiki to explain this situation better!

Actually this problem confuses me too. As I’ve seen many items that look like an Apple product replicas but with some details changed – I don’t know if this is allowed by Envato, and by Apple? Maybe it’s a confusing issue to reviewers, too.

Creating a vector version of an iPhone is hardly making a copy of their product, nor is my creating one considered “copying” “things like this”....

If that’s the case, anyone who creates a graphic of a LED tv or all those iMac mock-ups are illegal as well.

Those which resemble apple designs and getting money off it, yes, they are illegal for sure.

Yup. So is this illegal or not Envato?
