^ components. Pro has better/faster parts inside, and only comes in 11” or 13”.

So from my understanding, you can get the 2.6GHz Retina one for $2,800, or the same one without Retina for $2,200? So Retina itself is $600?

Overall, the price is higher than expected, but I can’t wait to pick one up myself. I have the Mid 2009 model, so it’s right around the corner for an update. Perfect timing for getting me a nice graduation present :P

I’ve got mine from 2006, and since it isn’t the only mac I use, it’s gonna hit the 10 years mark I guess. :-)

A retina display Macbook Air, with the same configuration as the Macbook pro, and water based batteries that split H2O in energy will make me change it. >:)

...I wonder when and if that time will come, before we kill each other for the little resources that will be left.

That time is now. Or what do you think are the reasons behind the wars are happening all around the globe nowadays? Planet resources, call them fuel, gold or water(ever). ;)

The battery segment is something that needs improvement – too big, too little time.
That is a sad story ,I can’t finish my day even on my iPhone or my galaxy GALAXY S II / GALAXY Note…that what drive me nuts the most

you know what is nice?

we already have technology to power devices with no batteries, and is 100 years old stuff.
Tesla’s towers? Wireless electricIty? Is that what you meant?
Speaking of it, wouldn’t had been so amazing for Tesla to complete his discovery, and all human kind to live on free energy? I wonder when and if that time will come, before we kill each other for the little resources that will be left.

imagine 100 years of research in this field. Look at the aviation or the computers industry.

Now we would had airplanes that fly with no fuel on board, electric cars with no batteries that always work, less ambient and landscape damage since no need to build all those wires, or transport oil or gas.

^ Is there any recent improvements on this to meet/ensuring practical viabilities?

I read somewhere this:

That electrical energy can be economically transmitted without wires to any terrestrial distance, I have unmistakably established in numerous observations, experiments and measurements, qualitative and quantitative. These have demonstrated that it is practicable to distribute power from a central plant in unlimited amounts, with a loss not exceeding a small fraction of one per cent in the transmission, even to the greatest distance, twelve thousand miles – to the opposite end of the globe.

-Tesla

However, still there are chances of power crisis due to limited resources on Earth. Transmission solves only part of the problem.

A year or two ago some company said it worked on a floor that can recharge electric car batteries. You park your car in your garage (where this special floor is located) and the car will charge itself without wires. Don’t know if they release this or not.

Also Samsung S3 should have in the near future wireless charging. Probably you will need to keep the phone very close to the charger, so not exactly the same thing, but is a start.

I’m not informed about this so I don’t know the advantages or disadvantages, but I know that 100 years of development could find solution to many of those problems.

Is the same issue with the electric cars. Apparently the first electric car was build in 1828

Real or not it looks awesome, it had four wheels, what do you want more :)

Nobody is seeing the joke behind this. Apple wants badly retina everywhere, which obviously is meant for vector graphics. It would be a perfect couple with Flash which was born as vector animation tool, it’s way faster than SVG or any other similar solution.

It’s like the Fox and the Grapes. Flash is evil, yeah. But it could have rocked your world, stupid Apple.
