For instance, the first letter of the menu items and headlines being green isn’t very appealing. Generally you see the first word being a different color, but not the first letter of the headline.

Secondly, try using some different fonts. Right now the fonts look a bit bland when compared to the slanted design elements. Try something that is different and unique just like your design.

Hope that helps. Goodluck!

Ok, i corrected/redid some stuff:

  • Removed lower images (a bit to much images i think it mad it cramped)
  • used simple icons
  • added more buttons/links
  • changed font
  • changed hover on the navigation
  • added some indent effects
  • worked a bit with spacings
....

You can compare the rest, hope i made some improvements, would like to here some comments before i go work on other pages and submit.

stop using a combination of serif and sans serif fonts. Looks bad.

No. The web has used serif fonts for titles and sans-serif for body text for years, there is nothing wrong with that, it’s the leading and sizing that’s the issue.

It’s not working with this design, but hey, what do I know right? I didn’t work for the biggest auto ad agency in the world for 7 years right?
