We can sell in gold :))+1000
Check out GoldMoney.com. You can actually configure an online store to accept payment in gold if you have a GoldMoney account. I would accept my payouts in gold if Envato offered this option.
I prefer Platinum.

It basically comes down to a reviewers decision, but if you want to raise a price of your item, you can ask your reviewer and if he/she approves it, you are set – done that already 2 or 3 times so far and all changes were approved.
I’ve been approached by a reviewer twice after an update to some old themes to raise the price to 35 (was 25 or 30 before, can’t remember) so that can happen for sure.
Regarding the topic of this thread, I’m considering talking to a reviewer asking for a raise to the price of my most successful theme (to 40), my question to you Fresh, did you see a drop in sales once ST raised do 40? This is my concern.
Cheers

@unisphere Showtime sales have dropped around the same time the price was bumped to $40, but I think the reason why the sales has dropped was because the layout is too generic and there is a big competition. Your Breeze theme is similar to this generic layout, but it has a few of those extra things which buyers won’t see in 50 other themes. Not sure how much the $5 difference matters to the wide audience – but in my guess they don’t care as long as it’s exactly what they are looking for. This also brings me to the question why Striking has so many sales… Laws of TF are sometimes very unpredictable…
@tonvie Yeah mate, thanks for your continuous support and your enthusiasm, we appreciate it!
Just my 2 cents as i see theme authors posting here and I am just a theme buyer who buys themes for my clients so hear it from my perspective.
I agree with and have also observed, as recent as this week that their is no rhyme or reason when comes with pricing on TF. I short listed 2 themes for 2 different clients both for $35.
Theme ‘A’ had a smorgasbord of features: color picker for all elements, multiple layouts, jam packed with shortcodes (news, events, testimonials, toggles, tabs) of every description, absolute comprehensive demo site of all features, and stellar support from the author.
Theme ‘B’ had good looks but 3 shortcodes (tool tips, column layout, call out), no unique sidebars, everything else had to be done manually with the code and a theme author who gave the impression we were bothering him and left comments languishing before he answers and a woeful support website.
I would have gladly paid $40 for Theme ‘A’ while I feel Theme ‘B’ is only worth $30 if that much and I can’t fathom why they’re both the same price.
My opinion is that TF has to compare built-in features of a theme and perhaps offer a premium for the top authors (Paralellus included as I bought his Traject theme). Also themes should now have a minimum of features as standard when comes to shortcodes and unique sidebars before they’re approved.
Again that’s my 2 cents, but I’ll pay as high as $40!
@freshface Thanks man, I think I’ll hold the price raise for a few weeks, I’m still measuring the impact of the thumbnail and image preview change I’ve made with the 2.0 update and I don’t want it clouded by a price raise, 2 variables at the same time isn’t that good.
@CLINE123 Thanks for your feedback, always appreciate the Buyer’s opinions
Personally, as a theme buyer, I look at some of the options in the theme and importantly, if they are things I would use.
Living in the UK, means that the Pound is up and down against the dollar, so what I pay does vary alot from time to time, however, when you look at other template sites, the prices here ($35-$40) still offers superb value.
However, if a theme is getting old without updates, then prices should be dropped whereever possible.
