This is like the story of the fox who wanted some grapes and he couldn’t reach them, at the end he said: “I’m not hungry anyway”. I respect your religion, or any kind of religion, but saying that you are doing it for your health is looking for logic where there is none. 
^ Like I said we don’t fast because it has medical benefits, those are just side effects. Whether or not fasting is beneficial is a large topic and you really need to research it before making baseless statements like ”...looking for logic where there is none”.
