Well, pleasantly surprised. This last batch actually worked with the MRs. Yay!
Nice! Please let me know if you run into any other issues
Can we PLEASE have a “attach model release” button in the uploaded files “Edit” section?
This would help HUGELY !
agree. i love the look and feel of this site – very nice to use – but the upload process is odd.

I hear you
Could you tell me what you find frustrating about the upload process and why? We’re continually looking to improve how things are done. You can reply here or email me at travis at envato dot com.
In fact, if anyone else has any feedback on how we can improve the site, we want to hear it too.
KingDog – Surely my comment above is one of the points of frustration. Ill repeat it again here…
“Can we PLEASE have a “attach model release” button in the uploaded files “Edit” section?”
It seems crazy that you can’t ftp files and then attach releases as you wish.
Plus, please tell us how many keywords we have if you are going to impose keyword limits.

Thanks THP . I’ll be putting together a list for our Devs. I’ll make sure your ideas get on it.
Thanks KingDog
I agree. So complicated. And it would be nice if support answered our queries.

Hi guys! Your feedback is appreciated. Please know we take all suggestions seriously with thoughtful consideration. In fact, we are currently planning to adjust how we handle keywords since this will likely be a much easier task than the loftier one of modifying our model release system. I completely understand our model release process is somewhat out of step with most other stock sites and hopefully I can throw out some tips to help you live with it until a better solution is in place.
OK, lets discuss model releases and our ftp process. I must first admit that I am not a photographer and may be missing some key elements, if so please forgive me and feel free to point them out. Now if you are planning to upload your photos, then a little thought reprogramming might help. All model releases are automatically attached to whatever batch of images you upload to the photos folder, assuming you place the MR’s in the model_releases folder. Thats it, no need to attach anything. Some have argued that this is in fact a much easier approach and saves them lots of time in the long run since they don’t need to worry about attaching anything after the upload at all.
Now, where I think the main frustration comes in is when a contributor uploads a batch of photos but does not add the related MR’s at that time(again, likely due to this being a different approach) and expects to be able to add them via the dashboard manually.
Here is a basic run-down of the best way to add your photos with our current system.
See here for complete instructions
- Upload all photos to the “photos” directory
- Upload all related model release to the model_releases directory
- Head to the dashboard and process the images
Now if you have already uploaded your photos but didn’t upload the MR’s and need help on how to get your MR’s associated, please feel free to contact me and I will try to help you out
