Hi guys,
I really need your advice, especially if you have had problems like this before.
Basically I woke up this morning and my right knee had packed in. I tried to stand up and literally fell on the floor like a sac of potatoes. My knee is agony and I have no idea what to do about it. I can barely walk and need support all the time.
The main reason I am asking you guys is because I am currently in Italy on an amazing 2 month trip that my parents have been busting their backs for me to go on and I cannot ring them and say that I am stuck in bed and can’t move not only because I refuse to disappoint them but also because they are 11 hours away and can’t do anything about it.
I am 16 and a competitive skier and horse rider, I fully expect to have problems later on in life, it goes with the sports but I am very concerned that at 16 my body is already showing signs of weakness.
I am basically asking you if you have any recommendations, suggestions, anything … ? I have tried stretching and ice pack but no difference.
If you have read all this I really appreciate it.
Thank you all,
- EJ

Hey EJ, it is really sad to hear that so young man has this kind of problems, but in fact You should visit the Doctor, because he is the right person who can be of any help.
Hope your knee get well soon
Hey Survivor,
Thank you. I would visit the doctor but the problem is that I don’t speak italian. I guess I need to find someone to translate.

No problem and I think You will have no problems with English at the Doctor, those people ussualy speak and understand English
I think what happens to you is important enough to tell your parents. Maybe first try to contact a doctor to know what is the problem.
Thanks guys.
I have got a gel and painkillers, doesn’t know whats wrong with it though
Google has been my friend today, from looking at diagrams looks like the pain is coming from the hamstring tendon in the back of my knee.

Rest for a few days.
My knee is ruined from sport and my day job wears down on it. Every now and again I wake up with it in pain and need to take a couple of days of lying around.
It’d be worth taking a few days rest rather than ruining your holiday.
Thanks QuickandEasy
Out of curiosity, what sport ?

I was on the British Judo Squad, but the injury mainly comes from the amount of running I did as part of my training.
WOW ! Nice
