I am new to graphic river (I opened my account a while back though) and am having a few problems and I need help.
1. I use corel draw for my vectors, can I upload the .cdr or should I convert to illustrator.
2. For some reason my .eps files look very bad compared to my vector, how do i export eps properly.
thanks for the help everyone
Hey,
I work with Corel Draw too, and I have lost a lot of time dealing with the differences between Corel and Illustrator. But don’t worry! I finally figured it out. Here is what you do:
First you save the CDR file in version 9 (So all Corel users can use it.) You are going to include the CDR file in you package (MAIN.zip file) but only as a bonus. There will be people, who will thank you for your CDR files from time to time.
Then in Corel you save an AI file (version 8 – the same reason) Corel saves good AI files if you know which options to select (which I will tell you). After that you open this AI file with Illustrator and save the EPS (version 8 ) from it. You can also export a layered PSD file from it. I do that and my packages usually include CDR , AI, EPS , JPEG and PSD files.
For those settings it will be easier for me to send you some screenshots, so why don’t you send me a site mail, and I will do that.
Keep in mind that before you even start to Draw in CDR you will need to set your color management settings to be like those of AI. Otherwise your images will look different in the two programs.
Also working like this you wont be able to use meshes, transparency, or very complicated gradients. But this has its benefits, because your files will open with every vector program and there won’t be any disappointed customers.
Anyways. Write me an e-mail for those screenshots. Also let me know which version of Corel and Illustrator do you use.
thanks ARIGATO ! I will mail you.

Hi to both!
I have the same troubles. I mean I do not use my cdr files for my Envato items since I did not figure out this procedure. Therefore thank you for great question photofix and more than perfect answer Malchev. Great imformation! Thanx again!
Hey Eka,
Any time buddy. If you need more help, just write me a site mail to send you those screenshots. You can write to photofix too. He now also have them.
And photofix, my friend, I’ll write to you about that color management soon, cause it will take me some time, and right now I don’t have it.
Take care Corel Drawers!
Hey guys thanks for this thread…
I also know Corel Draw a little bit. It has lots of awesome feature also.
@Malchev thanks for your information. It helps me a lot.
I wrote a tutorial on the subject, where I explain everything in detail. You can check it here:

Thank you Malchev for this tutorial!
I have had no opportunity to study this tutorial yet even if it is on the top of the list of my priorities and it is essential for me. I am sure it is also interesting for other designers which love&use CorelDraw.
