(Locked) New item not on frontpage?

We pick the 40 most recent authors to have an item approved, and their most recent item is shown. And again this would update every 15 minutes.

So we should have 40 recent items from all categories and no two items from the same author. If what i said is wrong and UnitedThemes is right, than this change is messing things up.

EDIT : Oh my god!!! All themes are from new authors? THEMEFOREST WHAT IS THIS ?????

That sure must be the way you said and I hope this is some kind of a bug now, otherwise this is totally wrong!

Wow, you’re right guys, homepage shows only files from recent authors now, not from recent authors to have an item approved. I don’t think this should work like that…

I will create a new author for every new theme >:) =)))

Crozer, you are not on the homepage, at least not in the “All” section (you are in the “PSD” though).

I’ve just checked all items in the “All” section and they’re all either from completely new authors or they are from authors that already had an item on another marketplace but have just became authors on ThemeForest and had their first file approved here.

If you had a new theme and you did not get front page time how would you feel?

I understand, but screaming doesn’t help.

@pogoking: I just realized that. That is indeed strange. But I simply cannot imagine Envato doing such a stunt. Stopping regular authors from having their new items on the front page is ridiculous.

What I understood from Collis’ message, is that the 40 most recent items by any individual author will be displayed in the front page—so only the newest item of the 40 authors who most recently submitted an item. So if you happen to release two or more items consecutively, only your most recent one gets displayed.

This is so unfair…

Yes. The latest WordPress releases are not showing on “All” tab of the front page. The new system was supposed to show “recently approved (ONE) file of the Author who just cleared the upload queue.

It changed into “Recently registered authors on Marketplace”. Seems like a bug. Hope it gets fixed soon.
