Since I’ve discovered this website, I have had this drive to make things. Over the past two years, I’ve hosted numerous forums and did all of the graphic design as well as supplying some personal graphics for members. I’ve finally decided to submit something but I’m a little hesitant…

I’m almost entirely self-taught. I worry that the way I set my PSD up won’t be proper. Everything I’ve previously made was for my eyes only, so it was never organized. I did my best with my current submission-in-progress…everything is properly named and simple to understand. Is that all that matters? That it is user-friendly? I basically laid it out as if my elderly grandmother could understand it without having ever touched Photoshop. I also left many things un-merged so that there are more customizable layers.

If you have any advice, I’d really appreciate it! Just don’t want to get ahead of myself. I’d like to do everything right the first time.

Welcome to the Forums ABlownMind!

The best resource I can suggest for setting up your PSD ’s would be Layer Mayor & Photoshop Etiquette..... Are you a Layer Mayor?

PDF link :)

If so, you’ll do just fine.

Also, I see you have a purchases badge – do you set your items out like the items you’ve purchased?

Note: Everyone will organize their work differently, however, the easier it is for the buyer to use your PSD , the better.

My guess is hardly anyone ever gets their first upload accepted. I know I didn’t. Have you ever read this book?

The same concept could be applied. Prepare for the item to get rejected. And when this happens, recharge, reupload and then repeat. Good luck :)

You can always post examples here on the forum as well, where we’ll be more than happy to help you out and critique you. That’ll also make things faster, since some review processes can take over a week.

Welcome!

Welcome Ablownmind! Don’t worry if you get your first item rejected, many of our top selling authors still get items rejected. :) If you ever need feedback on any of your items, our awesome community members will be happy to give you advice. Most of them are very talented and have many years of experience. If you do get an item rejected, you are able to ask the reviewer for more feedback. This will help you isolate areas that need improvement. Again, welcome to our community! Carmen
