Went to Italy last week, had a great time, took some great photos.

Got home, plugged SD into laptop and pffft, it’s gone wierd and corrupted.

It’s still telling me that there is 3gb out of 4gb used so the files are obviously still there, I just cant see them via explorer… (same thing on OSX with Finder, just empty folders)

I’ve had a quick google and i’m downloading several demos of a few products which claim wil recover them but thought i’d ask to see if anyone has had a similar experience and what did you use?

Thanks!

Matt

have you tried viewing invisible files? Ive had a few cards that would randomly hide all the files(minus folders)

yeah it’s really wierd, barely anything shows up except a few folders DCIM etc… when I index the drive using TreeSize it sort of shows them but wont let me access them in anyway :s

I’ve used Card Recovery which is showing me thumbs of them all so looks like i’ll get them back… anyone used anything else which worked and is cheaper? ($40)

http://www.r-undelete.com has saved my a** a couple of times. But always used with HDs, not sure if it’s also reliable for cards, you can give it a try.

you’re not an author so I can’t contact you… plus it’s likely spam since you’ve just joined and first post…

don’t know if this could help but I used this trick couple of times:

I use a linux live cd/dvd to boot a system (no install it works directly from disk)

usually linux is able to read stuff that windows for some reason doesn’t see or doesn’t let you touch. I’m assuming you have windows, I’m not sure if linux can bring to life an apple device, probably yes.
