Masking/Scroller question

Just curious if that lil thumb scroller is two copies of the main scroller scaled down? It seems like theres one for alpha changing on rollover and another which only shows a masked portion of the scroller to show the viewable area in colour. Or is there another way one could go about this?

Its probably tweens from 100 alpha to 0, then loads the menu and sets the alpha to 50 and on roll over does a tween to 100 alpha. Its possible its all animation, and its possible its all action script. You can choose how you want to do it.

new, did you look at it? It has a bunch of thumbs below the large scroller. When you rollover the image shows alpha at 100%(full colour) but there is your current image being viewed represented by the thumbs alpha being 100%

This is easy, however any adjacent thumbs within view get whatever parts are viewable showing alpha at 100% while the rest of that thumb is still transparent… Clicking on another thumb you’ll see the full colour slide along the thumbs, so its a movieclip mask by the looks of it.

Its just that if the other thumbs are staying transparent til rolled over and can somehow have a part of the transparent thumb shown in full colour then this must be two instances? Transparent thumbs with rollover and another one with a scrolling mask which moves when a transparent thumb has been clicked revealing a full colour thumb(s) on top through the mask.

I don’t think I explained that very well….just look if you did’nt, I can only see it as two instances not just a single one, unless theres some awesome technique someone knows of to get that effect.
