Magento Theme Design - Using well-known Brands & Labels on my Liveserver

Hello Fellows,

i am just in the process to desing a Premium Magento eCommerce Theme (Fashion and Clothing). And before i start creating products and some marketing elements in my design, i want to know if it is allowed to include brands and labels which are only available and integrated on my liveserver for preview purposes. But they are not included in the download item.

For example: I have developed a custom menu, and there is a categoy brands. In this brands category will be images of well known fashion-lables for navigation issue. And i want also integrate products of this fashion-lables only for preview purpose “on my liveserver”. This labels and images will not be part of the downloadable item.

I´ve just read the authoring tutorial, because till now i´m an author only on GraphicRiver, but in this authoring tutorial i didn´t find hints for my concerns. So my questions to you is, it is possible to make it like i mentioned it?

Technically, it’s copyright and trademark infringement. The same goes for grabbing any ‘ol images off the web.

If you used the Levi’s logo and they didn’t like it, you could be taken to court and you’d lose. Same goes for grabbing pretty images off a photographers website to use on your demo.

All content has a copyright holder and unless it’s specifically stated that you can use it, you can’t.

Thank you for your comment, but what i meant is “it is allowed from the ENVATO -Marketplace Guidelines (in this issue Themeforest)”. Because i have already prepared a letter to ask for permission, which i will send to the copyright holder in time before my demosite is online.

My concern is about Themeforest if they do allow this.
