dude, you live like 200 kilometers from mearound 195ms hereI also skimmed through a couple of reviews and it seems like a lot people are complaining about the loading time of sites hosted at their gs product (our choice). Can anyone confirm this?I have got my freshface.cz on (MT) GS and if I ping it, it’s average is 211ms … But this really depends on your location. Maybe it’s good for US people. Can anyone from US etc. ping freshface.cz and tell us your average in ms?![]()
– not US though

I am seeing an average response of about 80ms in the US (Atlanta.) On my site, atlchris.com I see an average of 40ms, and I am on Host Gator. That is almost double as fast as (mt.)

I’m in the middle of the US, just sent you an email with ping details and a screenshot
+1 Host gator. I haven’t had any “real” problems with them and their support is instant and amazing! I really love hosting with them.
I use Just Host for all my sites and customer sites just because they have been perfect. If later on that changes I will consider something bigger like Media Temple or Rackspace Cloud.
Blue Host is good, 24/7 phone support, live chat etc… unlimited domains, databases tons of space etc…. I have had very good luck with them for quite a few years. I have also used MT but Found BlueHost to be just as reliable and very affordable.
-1 on Host Gator. I dislike how HostGator automatically block things like TimThumb script until you call them and get it whitelisted on your domain. Now with WP 2 .9 it may not be as much as an issue but they have caused me some aggravation. Yeah I know… security but…. They seem to have a full plate of options but that alone left me sour.

I use MediaTemple… simply the best that I’ve encountered so far
(townies with pitchforks arrive…)
Webfaction! Webfaction! Webfaction!
I’ve used steadfast.net and am satisfied.
I’ve pinged these sites for an average ping rate…
freshface.cz -> 78ms (mt) atlchris.com -> 40ms (hostgator) johnnyfreeman.me -> 35ms (steadfast)
FYI , I live in Florida, US.
I’ve been using MediaTemple for few years now. Moved from their GS to DV server and I must say I am extremely satisfied with their server performance, no downtime except for updates or server migrations (they always notify in advance for scheduled updates). Their support is great, with all my queries they have answered them by going outside their scope and this is why I value their support. Their PLESK control panel for all domain management is high end but you just need to know how to use it correctly. I do have an issue with 1 site of my but this is a fault in my script I need to fix and nothing to do with their servers.
If you have further knowledge in server maintenance then go for a DV server as you will get a lot more performance out of it then the shared server. But for someone that is a novice their GS shared servers are easy to manage and they offer a great knowledge database for both grid and virtual dedicated servers.
Well done MT and I will be definitely looking at getting more servers through you guy’z.
Also, does anyone know of a good reseller hosting company for virtual dedicated servers at a reasonable price with performance, reliability and support – I would be eager to know as I have been searching for such for years.
Thanks.
rackspacecloud… best reseller package out there. In my opinion with a super clean control panel.. and I have not even taken advantage of the cloud file part of it..
