Hello 3dOcean!
I was thinking to make a thread about how can we improve this awesome community. 3dOcean is the Envato’s Marketplace that has almost no sales. So I thought it would be very good to make a post talking about how can we make a better 3dOcean (well, the site managers are saying that they are currently making new improvements to the site). I came up with some basic ideas, but the point is that you can help with some
- 1. I think the best thing to drive traffic to this site is: COMPETITIONS . A clear example of this situation is this guy: Soulty666
- 2. Promoting 3dOcean on Twitter, or your personal Blog. An example of this is this guy: bakbek. And his Blog
- 3. Another thing is, the Double Dippin’ system. People that sells GR textures should sell them here too. An example of this situation is this guy: iSourceTextures.
Sorry for my bad English.
Hope this thread help.

We definitely need more competitions! That will drive more people here.
What about a 3D Ocean bundle? That always attracts a lot of traffic and new buyers.
I advertise all my models on my website, twitter, tumblr, deviantart, dribble, forrst, etc. I’m currently redesigning my site so it’ll hopefully get more traffic.

Number one would be to stop accepting poor quality models and giving them low prices, pricing and quality of items should be consistent.
And the layout out of some people stuff is very poor and even if the model is good this should be corrected as it reflects poorly on the market place and undermines the quality of this site!

Totally agree, but that doesn’t depends on us!

My main problem is i have a limited amount of time i can spend making things and 3d takes a long time to get things done, but brings very little money back on this site.
Whereas i can spend 30mins creating something in Photoshop for Graphicriver and it will normally bring in more money than the time spent creating it.
There only seems to be one author on the site that has made good money.
WE just need more visitors and more sale but I am not sure how to make this happen!
Hasn’t there been a thread like this before, and nothing actually happened?

So many of the changes we make to the marketplaces are by user request. Your opinions are incredibly valuable to us. Our marketplaces are what they are today because of you. Of course we can’t make every request happen, but we try to at least research each one to determine if it’s plausible or not.
Unfortunately, the ones we do decide to do often take some time. I know that can make it feel like nothing is going on. I assure you that’s not the case. We have several great things in the works, for the marketplaces as well as 3dOcean.
Please always keep the ideas coming and we’ll always do our best to make the marketplaces better for authors and buyers.

I think we should drive more customers not more authors.
