Where is a good place or a few good places to learn AS3 .. I have a lynda account.. But it doesnt teach anything in great detail for AS3 .. AS2 yes but not so much AS3 …
I figure maybe a learning thread… something that we can give a review on good books or lessons we have taken..

Get the Essential AS3 from Colin mock if you really want to get into the details of AS3 (The book is not for beginer btw)
Or Learning ActionScript 3.0 – A Beginner’s Guide is pretty neat too.

I never buy books, because I thought they were worthless for me and I only could learn by trying by myself. Anyway I won the book Essential AS3 by Colin moock and I can really recommmend it to you. I try to create something using help and tutorials and when I don’t understand some stuff, I look in the book and get detailed information on how to do stuff in multiple ways. I learned AS3 pretty quickly, for me now it’s just AS2 but more strict and some changes in the functions.

+1 For Colin Moock’s Essential ActionScript 3.0 book. When I was reading it, I kept thinking, “I wish I had this book when I was first starting to program”. I thought the way he explained Object Oriented Programming was excellent.
Quick background on me, I first learned to program using ActionScript before it had version numbers (2001). Since then I’ve expanded to other languages, but ActionScript is definitely my first love.
Personally, I thought his book was excellent for beginners and experienced programmers alike, but you may get a different responses from different people.
It may be helpful if you provided some background about what level of experience you are coming from.
