You have a japanese version of Flash and you don’t know Japanese? mm.. might not do the trick here..
You don’t need a japanese version of flash to do stuff in japanese, click embed fonts and embed japanese kanji on the textfields, and make it XML driven so that a language expert can fill in the blanks

Sounds nice, but if you run into a discussion with a client like I have, that won’t do, lol..
Here’s just a snippet from adobe:
Even though the Flash Player can display Korean text, for example, a Flash author could not create such text using US English (CP1252) because the codepage does not contain any Korean characters. The clipboard for copy and paste is linked to the system codepage, so on a Shift-JIS machine you could cut and paste Shift-JIS text but you would not be able to do this on an English based system.
So yes, I can make input textfields in japanese, but I have no way of testing it (since my system is english based) and I have no way of checking it, since to me Japanese looks like a bunch of ancient signs.. And off course I have a client without any knowledge as such so testing it, has become an issue.
That’s the whole discussion right there! Need someone to either confirm or dismiss something and best would be if that someone has knowledge of AS, thus a japanese Flash IDE .
Well, all that stuff is pretty convincing, and if it’s from Adobe then I don’t know how it can be wrong.
Yet if that’s true then Mazda has a bunch of training courses that don’t show any japanese text and they never complained… I doubt this though, since they complained about everything...
In all experience I’ve had, if the font is embedded, and the xml file contains the right data, the characters show. Maybe that means the XML file needed to be made on someone’s computer with a japanese language pack installed, but still, it always worked for me when I just copied and pasted the kanji into an XML file.
I guess I have no hard evidence for you, but hopefully I gave you some info to go off of to help your search for answers

Don’t get me wrong, you are right on the money, but invision this:
I have no way to check if what I made, actually works (that’s what that piece from Adobe actually says). So now I have a message from my client saying something is wrong, but without any proper feedback and like I said, no way for me to check..
I need that check by someone who can read and write japanese, but also understands AS and maybe (if needed) is able to do some minor additional work.
