Envato can ban him and he can create another account.. :(

The only viable thing is to send the DMCA notice, I guess.

There is a website where you can find almost all TF files for free. I reported it twice and support still did nothing about it. They just said: “Thank you, bla bla, we will take care, bla bla”. I’ve always liked the Envato team, I think they are awesome and they do a great job, but I don’t understand why don’t they do anything about those sites. They are losing money, not me, I don’t have themeforest items. Anyway, I will report it one more time, but I have a feeling that it is useless.

Ban him again and again.

And btw, they can check his payment method and contact the credit card company and lead to a lawsuit against him and this is possible, not a dream.

Just need to wake up Envato cuz I guess they don’t really care.

This is obvious Doru. But they can take legal actions against the hosting, server, or whatever, can’t they?

Guys, there is absolutely nothing you can do about a user that constantly uploads items to warez sites. Banning him/her will do zero good because they will just signup again, and again. The kind of people that share files like this have zero problem being banned from sites, because the just sign up again.

You are 100X better off working on the legitimate promotion and development of your items than you are in fighting this kind of piracy.

I partially agree Pippin, because you have the major disadvantages in the very first period, when your item has been placed on these websites.
Of course you cannot fight piracy forever, because those little b@st@r… will upload again and again, forever, but you can fight them in the first 2/3 days.

A very delightful guy has placed the first version of my plugin PrivateContent on one of the most famous warez websites (I’m sure anyone here knows it). In the first hours I sold 80% less. Luckily, they often uses services that automatically uploads the package on multiple websites, so I wrote to these websites and they removed the links immediately.

I ‘ve done this continously for 2/3 days. Once they upload my plugin, I was ready to close it. After these days my plugin set back in the website archive and the uploader got tired to re-upload and my sales returned to the normal status :D

Of course if you do a search now, you’ll find that package, but the damage has been reduced.

Never give up against piracy, try to hit the sources that have the biggest visibility. ;)

These days it’s too easy to passby the IP bans… :D…I agree with Elad actually…..Envato could conact the Credit Card companies or his payment (PayPal)...to tell this user is involved in illegal activites, which I am sure paypal/credit card company will be more than happy to shut them down. In other hands it will slow down the user a lot, so he will think twice before doing the same thing.

they could jump on a ship and go destroy their servers, is somewhat close from them :)

but seriously is an international issue, you need expensive lawyers and you can get some results only in countries that have some sort of treaty with australia
