Item Description Rules

I was wondering, are there any written rules for what you can’t put in the item description.

e.g. I know promotion is not allowed in the forums as its in the rules, but can you promote your own store in item descriptions?

P.S. Its not something I’m looking to exploit, it’s just I see things and I wonder if its allowed.

If any staff can look at Ticket ID #OXM-279-54882 for who I think are breaking rules that would be great.

Also, could we get a list to whats not allowed?

Yea, I saw several guys who promotes their own stores in the Item Description, or even sending to external products which aren’t listed on CodeCanyon, so that’s quite strange… I’m looking forward to see an ‘official’ reply as in some cases might be unfair for both Envato’s Marketplaces and us, the authors.

Hi guys, We do have guidelines on this. As a rule links in item descriptions should be respectful of the Marketplaces and not seek to drive traffic to any external, competing service (including linking to items for sale on personal websites). If you do notice anyone using their item descriptions inappropriately, put a ticket in to support and they will deal with the issue. Thanks guys!
