I do a lot with Facebooks Like button. Yesterday and late into the morning today they have been having issues. Nothing unusual, this happens to me about 3-5 times a month. Only annoying when I am working on a project requiring the API !
Although this one did scare me a bit as I suddenly lost 10,000 fans off one of my pages but when the latest push went out they all came back

Yep, in fact was your plugin that prompted me. We use it for site access..user must like to gain entry.
Perhaps if facebook fails, you could code , display close icon…or a message.
