I am happy because I will not spend a lot more cash for a new phone because my iPhone 4 is doing his job perfectly. I never felt I need more speed so until next year when iPhone 5 will be released I will have to say thank you for not bringing too many improvements to the phone.
As for 4G, the iPhone’s lack of it doesn’t bother me. The standard isn’t mature yet and uses far too much power. Apple is playing it smart by letting all these Android handset companies beta test 4G technology and will pick it up once it performs well enough to be an undeniably positive addition to the iPhone.
Where I come from fast is good, but faster is better.
Look, this is why people make fun of Apple enthusiasts as religious followers. Every single feature (or even lack of) has to be perfect in their eyes, and will be defended even in the face of reason. If Apple had 4G first, they would be ‘innovators’, but since they don’t have 4G yet they are ‘wise’, outsmarting the competition for future plays.
Why is it so hard just to look at two products and make objective observations? In my opinion, Apple devices have the best, most responsive touch screen on the market, and a good, simple UI. On the other hand, if you are out and about with no wifi, having a 4G connection is far better than having a 3G connection.

I could not have said it better. I love Apple myself for their work. They do it perfectly but still my i4 is ok and there is no reason to upgrade to a i4S right now.

I Agree
Siri is like speaking to the Enterprise Computer. The Future is finally here!

I am looking at it objectively. The battery life of the 4G phones that have been released thus far are unsatisfactory and a clear downgrade from previous 3G models. Faster is better, but only when it’s not draining my battery.
Another thing to consider is this: does your phone provider give you true unlimited data, or is it like most these days with a very restrictive cap? In the case of the former, 4G would be an advantage. For the latter, it either doesn’t make any difference or is worse because you won’t be able to fully take advantage of the improved speeds and will hit your cap that much more quickly.
Also, since the standard is segregated between different carriers, which would they select? They already have GSM and CDMA in a single phone, so cramming multiple 4G standards in there too seems unrealistic.
And no, if Apple had put inadequately developed 4G tech into the 4S I would call them stupid. I may use Apple products but I am not afraid of calling them out on their mistakes.

Too funny. This pretty much reinforces my original point better than anything I could come up with in reply.
Are you suggesting my opinion is invalid?
I’ve never been a fan of 4G, even before the 4S was released. The way carriers have played it up feels similar to the gimmicky marketing of 3D TVs and the like.
Aside from that, in pretty much any other field of technology, new releases have the be upgrades all around, not just in some aspects, or else they won’t sell well. For instance, if Intel were to release a new CPU that was a clear upgrade from the previous generation in speed but consumed twice the power of the last model, would people find that acceptable? I quite honestly doubt it.
Why on earth should wireless networks be any different?

All of this is completely irrelevant and only reinforces the point Michael is making. The iPhone 4S doesn’t have 4G and it’s probably not to ‘save’ the users from reaching their bandwidth cap earlier. I completely fail to see why this has even been brought up as a point.
