Installing SSD / Win7

A little off-topic —-—-—-—— I’ve had a ssd ocz agility 2 (60gb) that died after 30 days of use. I won’t buy another ssd very soon.

My OCZ vertex 3 died pretty quickly as well…Bought a Corsair GT and no problems so far + much higher performance.

To be honest, that sounded to me like “I bought a car made in Antarctica by penguins and it broke, so I’m through with cars”.

No offense if there are any authors from Antarctica.

I am from Antarctica AND I am a penguin…. but it’s okay, I’m not offended; I don’t work in the automobile division (those guys are crazy).

I’ve got a 128GB Crucial SSD in my computer, with a 1TB HDD . I have Windows on it along with all of my games

Any ideas on the best way to go about fresh installing win7 on the SSD and then using the other drive for files (how do I get win off it?)

You simply format the secondary drive. I have my secondary drive (HDD) set to Z:\ and my primary drive (SSD) set to C:\.

Yes. I had both of my drives in at once, but the most important thing to do is set up your BIOS before putting the disc in. There’s an area in the BIOS where you set your boot-up disks. Make sure that the DVD drive is set to first, SSD to second, and don’t even have the HDD listed there.

Another thing worth mentioning – make sure you have an Anti-Static Wrist Strap, this is the one I have. You don’t need to screw up your brand new SSD or your old HDD while working on it. Just clip it to the chassis and you’ll be good to go.
