HTML5 and the despicable (IE)

So I finally decided to open my theme in IE to see how it looks… Everything looks solid – except for one issue. I used HTML5 all the way, from header to section to aside, and IE refuses to style such tags. How can I get IE to stop being so stubborn?

This strikes me as strange because I can remember 10 years ago when I made up new tags while making sites on freewebs it styled them fine, so wouldn’t it consider these HTML5 tags to be “made up” too?

Modernizr solves this issue too? So it basically is an all in one modern day solution?

Not a big fan of starter kits – do you have any themes using it, or do you know of any that are?

I can’t tell about themes here, but there are plenty of big sites using it. https://github.com/h5bp/html5-boilerplate/wiki/Sites-using-the-boilerplate
