How to notify buyer if new update is available?

Is there any way to notify buyer if the new update is available? Or perhaps I can get a list of buyer for certain item. Thanks.

Short and simple answer is you can’t. You may be able to code something you self inside the item thats says theres a update available… like you could do a iframe to your own site and then you can change that when theres a update.

I’ve ended up building notification systems for my WordPress plugins that use XML (hosted on a server) to read the latest version available. Perhaps you could do something similar. Getting your buyers to follow you on Twitter is another great way.

We have asked for this feature for 6-8 months, and been told that Envato is working on this, but I have no idea when this will be available. I also believe that this is critical for both WordPress themes sold on Themeforest and WordPress plugins sold on Codecayon.

As mordauk writes many authors have ended up creating their own update systems. And also make your customers follow you on Twitter.
